I purchased a very small ice ball press 2 years ago and loved it, though the spheres were small. Spending $1000 on a full size press was insane. Some will say $155 is still crazy, but this press is well made (heavy) will likely outlast me, and will allow me to make unlimited numbers of perfect cocktail ice spheres. It works ! The guide rods are a little small so some care will be needed to ensure they aren't bent, but throw in a chunk of ice, align the top, and about 1 minute later, you have a perfect sphere. Like all ice presses, you have to warm them up a bit after a few runs. Just running some warm water on it works fine. Very happy customer. Might consider more for gifts.
